Challenge:
Use your measured gauge to knit a 6-inch square and see how accurately your finished knitting matches your calculations.

Test yourself with this exercise:

  • Knit a proper swatch.
  • Let it rest, wash, and block it.
  • Carefully measure and calculate your gauge.
  • Calculate the stitches and rows for a 6" square.

  • Knit a square according to your calculations.
  • Let it rest, wash, and block it.
  • Does your square fit inside the template? Is it accurate? If not, double-check your gauge measurements and try again.
