Read a pattern completely before starting to knit
Why would you knit an entire sweater before knowing exactly the sleeve length or the depth of the armhole?
Hopefully you wouldn’t purchase a garment online without at AT LEAST checking the sizing chart.
Starting to knit without knowing what the designer had in mind is just plain silly! My idea of a "comfy" fit is a lot different than my daughter-in-law.
In addition to fit, don't you want to know (and practice) knitting techniques BEFORE you use that beautiful, expensive garment yarn?
Read (and understand) the pattern completely before starting to knit.

If your pattern doesn't have a diagram, you'll need to create one before you start knitting. We will learn to do this down the road in this course.
Another rant ... but this is important!
