Before You Knit Your First Row

Get to know the key accessories that came with your machine.

The numbers below match the callouts on the image. Use them to identify each part before you begin.

  1. Yarn Tension Unit

    Holds and guides the yarn so it feeds smoothly into the carriage.

  2. Row Counter

    Counts each row as the carriage passes, helping you follow patterns accurately.

  3. Transfer Tools

    Used to move stitches from one needle to another for shaping, decreases, increases, and stitch manipulation.

  4. Claw Weights

    Small weights that hang from the knitting to help keep stitches forming evenly.

  5. Latch Tool

    Used for picking up dropped stitches, reforming stitches, and basic repairs.

  6. Special Knitting Oil

    Light machine oil used to keep the carriage and needle bed moving smoothly.

  7. Needle Pusher

    Used to move groups of needles in or out of working position.

  8. Table Clamps

    Hold the knitting machine securely to the table while you knit.
