Please take time to knit this swatch ... you may be surprised at the difference between the swatches with your yarn and your stitch pattern.
Compare using a larger swatch using the same yarn
- Knit a LARGE swatch using any method.
- Place markers at the center of the swatch as you did with the previous swatch (measure the same number of stitches and rows)
- Let it rest
- Dress the swatch (treat it as you will treat your finished sweater)
- Accurately measure YOUR stitch and row gauge
- Record your gauge and compare to swatch 1
Knit at least 100 sts x 100 rows for a standard gauge machine and 50 sts x 50 rows for bulky. The point is to duplicate the weight of a larger piece and examine the impact on gauge.
